Lake Tahoe Wedding Coordinator

Best of B&B 2016 Award

Turns out it is not only award season in Hollywood! Borrowed and Blue is one of our favorite wedding blogs that is designed to inspire and guide brides and grooms from across the US in 66 specific markets. Every year they come out with the only exclusively vendor-voted wedding industry awards. It's so unique (and fun!) that B&B allows the vendors themselves to hand-pick their very favorite companies to work alongside. We believe that your vendor team needs to be comprised of people who are not only talented and fit nicely into your budget, but that they are also a joy to work with! For example, it's difficult to get a sense of a photographers communication style if you are only viewing images in their online gallery, but it's absolutely essential to have the person capturing all your precious moments be someone who you feel comfortable interacting with - not to mention smooching and crying in front of.

At One Fine Day Events we strive to ensure that the dream team we help you build is comprised of individuals that make you smile. And it makes us smile that our colleagues have chosen us for this prestigious award. We are honored to receive an award for being one of the top three Best Wedding Planners in Lake Tahoe.

Best Of B&B 2016 - Lake Tahoe

Unbelievable Orchids | Lake Tahoe Wedding Inspiration

Orchids are one of those incredible flower varietals. They have the ability to be structured or soft, colorful or stark white, and present an air of tropical luxury like no other - not to mention they are gorgeous! I particularly love the Cattleya orchid which tends to be a little softer and less structured than other types.

Lovely Lavender | Lake Tahoe Wedding Inspiration

Calming, soothing, and oh-so-pretty - what's not to love about lavender? Roses may have cornered the romance market but I would take a freshly cut bunch of lavender over a dozen roses any day of the week! Aside from being an ultra soothing scent, it's just as classic as the rose - and could you imagine taking a stroll with your sweetie through a beautiful, sun-drenched field of the gorgeousness?

Behind the Scenes | Design Research

Here at One Fine Day Events we are constantly trying to stay on top of the latest trends and styles, and with that requires really fun "research" projects! We scour bridal events, paper shops, design stores and clothing boutiques to research and perfect each client's dream vision for their wedding. A few weekends ago we had the pleasure of attending the Soolip Bridal Event in San Francisco. Afterwards, we took full advantage of being in the city and visited lots of shops, boutiques, and stores to make sure we have every option available at our fingertips to create the perfect design + details for each client's wedding. We gathered inspiration from fabrics, stationary and paper goods, food stores, flower shops, and even bed linens! Here are a few pics of us hard at work!

We were just a tad bit overwhelmed with Paper Source's reams of patterned paper...but we managed to select a few beauties for our upcoming photo shoots and weddings!! Looking forward to see what we put together!

Tahoe Unveiled's Weekly Juice!

This week on our sister site we got all giddy from two gorgeous weddings at Northstar & The Ritz Carlton, saw the beauty in tying the knot under a beautiful tree, were bowled over in laughter with hilarious & unique wedding images, and were delighted to see how blue glass centerpieces can be both vintage and glamorous. I don't know about everyone else, but I'm ready for Springtime! I can practically smell the fresh grass and juicy fruit of the upcoming summer months - I don't know if I have cabin fever from all this rain or what, but I'm ready for a new season!!

Fab Find | Save the Veil

Outdoor wedding ceremonies can provide for gorgeous images of the bride being softly windblown with her veil trailing every so delicately behind her. What may not be so photogenic is our sometimes extremely strong Tahoe wind that can blow your veil right off of your perfectly coiffed head! Thanks to the brilliantly designed Save the Veil weight magnets, your veil will stay put for the entire duration of your ceremony and into dinner and dancing. These magnets are subtle, come in a variety of different styles such as mother of pearl or Swarovski crystal and can be easily fastened and removed without damaging your veil - brilliant!

The Idea Board | Guest Books

Guest books help provide great memories for your wedding. Whether you have family members you rarely get to see, friends coming in from out of town, or guests that live far away, a guest book can provide the perfect way to re-live your wedding through the eyes of your friends and family.

Guide your friends along the way with simple questions to jot down along with their name. You can ask sweet questions for them to answer about your marriage or to remember little things about your day that were maybe lost on your and your sweetie in the hustle and bustle of the big day. See below for a few ideas to help guests with their posts:

Where do you think we will be in 10-20 years? Where should we go for our 10 year anniversary? What is the best marriage advice you have ever received? When did you know we were meant for each other? Where should we go on date nights? What were you really thinking during our vows? What should we do during our first year of marriage? What advice would you give the bride about the groom, the groom about the bride? What do you think we should remember most about our wedding day? What will you remember most? What's your advice for the honeymoon night? What are your tips for falling in love over and over again? What's the most memorable thing about us? What are the first three words that come to mind when you think of us?

Lake Tahoe Wedding Planning Advice | Gift Bags

When planning a destination wedding it is really important to make sure your guests know where to go and what to do when they arrive. As Lake Tahoe wedding planners, we are very accustomed to guiding our client's guests around this beautiful destination. The best way to do so is with a pretty little gift bag! During the week prior to our client's weddings, our studio is often full of treats, welcome letters, champagne bottles, and totes for the guests. After assembling each bag, we deliver them to the appropriate hotels and vacation rentals. When the guests arrive, they are greeted with a welcome letter from the couple, an itinerary of the wedding festivities, and a few treats to make their stay more enjoyable! This past weekend, we had a winter wedding in Truckee and created the welcome bags pictured below! They were complete with a hand sewn tote by the mother of the groom, trail mix, a mini champagne bottle, and hot chocolate to keep everyone warm!

~Things to include in a welcome bag~

Welcome Letter Thank your guests for traveling to your wedding and greet them with a little note from you and your future hubby! If you are providing transportation to the wedding, include shuttle times to and from their hotel or vacation rental.

Activities Card This essential little card should provide all the crucial information for making the most of the wedding weekend. Include all of your favorite restaurants and activities to do while in town. You could also include places to go for a little pampering or a last minute mani-pedi!

Treats Who doesn't love champagne and chocolate?! Or H2O and sunscreen to help with Tahoe's intense summer sun? Give your guests the essentials for making sure they have the best time possible; they'll love you for it and you'll know you've provided everything they need to make it the best wedding they've ever been to - win-win! A few treat ideas include: cookies from a local bakery, cheese and crackers, or even a momento from a local well known shop (tahoe house has some yummy marinades and salad dressings)! Since most of your guests will not be used to the elevation, we highly recommend adding a water bottle or even a re-usable water bottle with your motif on it!
