Happy New Year! Our Favorites from 2012
We have had such a great year and we have so much to be thankful for, so it will be hard to narrow this post down to our favorites - there were so many! From being featured in Style Me Pretty, Tahoe Quarterly, Grace Ormonde & Wedding Chicks to designing some of the most magical and meaningful weddings yet, we have had quite the year! Below you will find some of our favorite features, posts and memories from 2012.
Let's start with dessert first!
I happen to love dessert - and with little wedding cakes, it's practically a match made in sugary heaven. You can have the cuteness of cupcakes and the elegant design of a wedding cake with little miniature wedding cake confections! The cupcake trend is still going strong, and the classic wedding cake will go in and out of style - but with small cakes, it's the best of both worlds because you can have your (mini) cake and eat it too!
One of our favorite styled shoots from this year was a gorgeous bohemian-infused wedding inspiration styled and shot at the gorgeously rustic West Shore Cafe in Lake Tahoe. Summer in Lake Tahoe means weddings, and lots of them! For anyone tying the knot in the peak summer months it's always a great idea to provide your guests with "Welcome Bags" - a little bag you give to each guest or couple upon arrival to help them make the most of their weekend here. There are a few essentials to include in this bag and we've listed them all in this post.
We were so thrilled to be featured on Style Me Pretty's blog this summer! Style Me Pretty is the end-all wedding blog and A.J. and Ted's wedding celebration weekend was one for the books! From the tropical, steel-drum infused welcome party to the late night dance party that ensued at Martis Camp on the wedding night, we could not have had more fun planning and designing this wonderful affair! Paige and Mike's wedding on Lake Tahoe's west shore at Chambers Landing was so elegant, so beautiful, and so perfectly designed that Tahoe Quarterly wanted to highlight it in their magazine this summer! Paige and Mike couldn't have been a sweeter couple to work with and their wedding weekend celebration went off without a hitch! From the "Martha Stewart Backyard BBQ" design to the absolutely stunning flowers over-flowing from every nook and cranny of the venue, their summer soiree was so amazing! Lake Tahoe Lakefront Wedding | Behind the Scenes
This summer we had quite the wedding season! It was filled with beautiful Lake Tahoe lakefronts, sweet ceremonies, loving and cute-as-can-be couples, heart-felt speeches, and some of the most touching father-daughter & first dances ever! As we look back on our super amazing summer season, we wanted to let everyone in on a little of the "behind the scenes" action that contributes to these gorgeous events! The following few pics are from an absolutely stunning wedding we had at the West Shore Cafe last July. Our bride was one of those dream lovelies that let us do what we do best - create and design! The inspiration behind this wedding was "Fanciful Whimsy", as the bride had oodles of whimsy and playful ideas! She loved unexpected natural elements and as she put it, "moments of drama"! We incorporated lots of greenery, succulents and even veggies (enter lots 'o romanesco!) in architectural and innovative ways.

One super awesome detail that took lots of time and man-power (thank you strong muscle men!) was a customized photo booth for all of the guests. This 2-day construction was filled with lots of plants and Bloxes to create a super funky and customized party-sized photo booth!
Making it Happen!
Zephyr Tents has some of the most wonderful & magical tents, and nothing says a party like a flag flying in the wind on top! This beauty is not the easiest to put up but it creates a "wow" factor like no other!
We can't wait to share this whole wedding with you, and with Catherine Hall Studios behind the lens you know it's going to be great!!

Tahoe Unveiled's Weekly Juice!
This week on our sister site, Tahoe Unveiled, we really swung into Fall with Tartan prints, creamy and warm color tones and horse drawn carriages! I also snuck in a tiny glimpse of Spring because I'm already looking forward to fresh blooms of flowers and bright sunshine now that the days are getting shorter and the layers needed to stay comfy are increasing. I do admit I'm a sucker for warm weather but it feels like Fall and I'm totally embracing it!

Tahoe Unveiled's Weekly Juice!
This week on our sister site we were inspired to bring in Pops of Red for decor, were persuaded again to go get a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks (caffeine, I love you!), and swooned when we saw all the great Dip Kisses! Lake Tahoe Wedding Inspiration | Soft Ombre
It's no secret that I'm in love with Ombre - it's just something about this style of color fusion that I've fallen head over heels for! I think it's the soft transition of color from a light faded shade into a super vibrant and colorful one that I just can't get enough of - whether it's in the shade of flowers, the table decor, or a sly surprise in the cake layers, I highly recommend weaving this brilliant idea into your decor!

Today's inspiration is the epitome of summer's essence - lemon and mint! What's not to love about the bright burst of lemons with a cooling touch of mint? It's the perfect summer love affair and the colors mesh brilliantly.
