Napa Weekend Get Away!

It was time to get our hands on the latest and greatest 2013 linens from our beloved linen company, La Tavola, and that meant a quick road trip down to wine wonderland, otherwise known as Napa Valley - and oh what a weekend we had! First stop was a quick snack for oysters and bubbles at the Oxbow Market....so yummy! Then we were off to La Tavola. Their 2013 linens are beyond amazing - from sequins, to lace, bright colors to pastels, they have everything a wedding planner could ever dream into reality. Inspiration, design concepts, and client ideas were all flowing through our minds as we wafted from one gorgeous inspirational table to the next. Have I mentioned they have one of the most stunning show rooms in existence? Linens were lining the walls in perfect order, champagne was flowing in the cutest little cans around, and there was a dessert bar to-die-for! Napa is so gorgeous this time of year, it's in full Spring swing, and it's making us so excited for this upcoming Summer!

Soft Blushes and Warm Browns - this color combination has stolen my heart. It so lovely and so complimentary I just can't get enough. I also happen to have a personal love affair with beautiful script - so it's the best of both worlds!

This week has been unintentionally devoted to some of your best allies in the wedding world - your bridesmaids! It can super stressful planning your wedding with the costs, budgets, family dilemas and destination wedding planning in general. But, one more thing to consider is the financial stress it might cause to your bridesmaids. It is always a good idea to come up with a rough estimate of what you are asking your bridesmaids to spend for your wedding and then making sure it's a comfortable and realistic amount for everyone involved -  take a peek below for the average costs of a maid.

One Fine Day Photo Shoot featured on Mountainside Bride!

Today we had the incredible honor of being featured on one of our favorite wedding blogs! Mountainside Bride is an absolutely fabulous blog dedicated to all things mountain + bride and we could not be more excited to have our photo-shoot featured today! This photo-shoot took place at the Manzanita restaurant in the Ritz Carlton and was a combination of "Rugged Meets Refined" elements. Click here to read the full article!

We combined rugged elements found in nature with more refined pieces to create a blend of contrasts. A few of our favorite design pieces included incorporating barbed wire wrapped around glass jars with unexpected floral elements such as cotton and dried seed pods. We also spray painted tin cans different metal tones and paired them with mercury glass wrapped in lace to create a unique centerpiece. We finished the tables with a bright turquoise napkins and rugged natural slate stone used as chargers. Be sure to watch the video (below) and you can see how we put it all together!

Lake Tahoe Lakefront Wedding | Behind the Scenes

This summer we had quite the wedding season! It was filled with beautiful Lake Tahoe lakefronts, sweet ceremonies, loving and cute-as-can-be couples, heart-felt speeches, and some of the most touching father-daughter & first dances ever! As we look back on our super amazing summer season, we wanted to let everyone in on a little of the "behind the scenes" action that contributes to these gorgeous events! The following few pics are from an absolutely stunning wedding we had at the West Shore Cafe last July. Our bride was one of those dream lovelies that let us do what we do best - create and design! The inspiration behind this wedding was "Fanciful Whimsy", as the bride had oodles of whimsy and playful ideas! She loved unexpected natural elements and as she put it, "moments of drama"! We incorporated lots of greenery, succulents and even veggies (enter lots 'o romanesco!)  in architectural and innovative ways.

One super awesome detail that took lots of time and man-power (thank you strong muscle men!) was a customized photo booth for all of the guests. This 2-day construction was filled with lots of plants and Bloxes to create a super funky and customized party-sized photo booth!

Making it Happen!

Zephyr Tents has some of the most wonderful & magical tents, and nothing says a party like a flag flying in the wind on top! This beauty is not the easiest to put up but it creates a "wow" factor like no other!

We can't wait to share this whole wedding with you, and with Catherine Hall Studios behind the lens you know it's going to be great!!

This week on our sister site, Tahoe Unveiled, we had the privilege of viewing  super special moments right before a couple walks down the aisle. This has come to be known as "the first look." This ultra-special moment is so beautiful for a number of reasons - it's the first time the soon to be newlyweds see each other before they stroll down the aisle to become husband and wife, it's super private and usually only includes the two of them (and of course your wedding photographer to capture the moment!) and it's a great way to get all of the nervousness out of the way so that you can really concentrate on your vows! I think for my wedding I will most definitely be donning a few floral petals in my coif. I stumbled upon this gorgeous orchard inspiration and fell in love! I think a beautiful ceremony amongst apple or citrus trees might just be one of the most romantic settings ever. It's full of color, shade, and best of all you can make dessert out of your surroundings - does it get any more convenient?!

Lake Tahoe Wedding Inspiration | French Fabulousness

There is a certain  je ne sais quoi  about the French culture that I absolutely adore. They know how to cook, they know how to relax, and they create things that have a certain sensuality about them without being overly risque or crude. Today's inspiration is reminiscent of Marie Antoinette - and no party of Marie's would be complete without the most over-the-top dessert bar! So whether you are going for a soft, sensual, or just plain pretty look for your wedding, try weaving in a few French influences and you're sure to create a soft & sweet atomosphere. And don't forget to have lots of forks on hand so you can "let them eat cake!"

Lake Tahoe Wedding Inspiration | Fall Beauty

As Fall approaches and the Aspens start turning those gorgeous yellow and burnt amber colors, I can't help but get excited for all the beauty that Fall brings with it. I love going for runs in the woods and feeling the cool breeze on my skin and snuggling up to a warm fire with a hot cup of cocoa afterwards. I also adore Fall weddings and everything you can do with the decor - from pumpkin dessert bars, to apples galore, a Fall wedding is a beautiful delight for the eyes (and belly!)

I just discovered Macy's awesome online wedding registry and I'm in love! It's so easy to set up and scanning and browsing all of their items from the comfort of a couch is so fun!! You can also set up an appointment with a consultation expert if you're unsure what to pick out. I'm smitten with Vera Wang's china collection and I'm pretty much obsessed with everything Cuisinart has ever created so it's the perfect combination of kitchen, bedding and decor!
